Client BACKING OUT of a SALE... OUCH!!!

Today, July 1, 2011, is very memorable for me.  Just 24 hours ago, I experience probably one of the more unforgettable moments of my life as a property specialist here in Ayala Land.  I closed 2 units of 2 Bed Room in Avida Towers Cebu.  24 hours later, the client backed out of the reservation!

They say in this business, it’s normal to experience backed out!  When you have experience clients backing out of their reservations, and survived the next day, stand tall and proud, that means you are already a “made” property specialist.  The worst part of this experience is between the time the client backed out, to the time you stand tall and proud.  It’s like an eternity of hurt and feelings of despair.

I know you probably would have the same words of wisdom and encouragements my fellow property specialist have told me… “It’s just a sale, you can do better than that!” or “That’s Ok, there’s more to come, I’m sure!” or the cliché “When God closes a door, He opens a window!”

After this experience, I realized that I have learned three things!  First, I am only human, capable of getting hurt, feeling bad, experiencing defeat!  Second, when you fall down, there’s no other person who can pick you up but yourself.  And lastly, you have every right to feel bad and whine about what happened, especially when you know you have exerted all efforts and means on closing and saving the sale!  But make sure that after the whining; always remember that tomorrow is another day!

I am sure July 2, 2011 will be more memorable, because tomorrow, I will make sure to get back that lost sale and even double my production!  Because I am a Premier Property Specialist, and enough of feeling bad, it’s time to buckle down and work.
